Hi, My name is Janine and I'm Maariv's log for Snow White and Friend Sounds Department. You may place you comments in the comments section or on Facebook, in the comments section where you see the link to this blog is posted. Mbaahahaa.
thank you to the lecturer or reminding us about how important it is feelings and emotions in a play.
the below might work to create sympathy and sadness over all evil in the world and make people don't want to be evil so that they don't have to be sad
this can be pursued by after the fairy god mother's spell has been struck onto the evil queen, the song plays and the characters get into slow motion displaying an array of emotions towards the evil queen's changing into stone. for example, the heroins can show that they are happy with their partners and then display either sympathy, the "there! you get what you deserve!" emotion, shock, or happy. Different characters should display different reaction towards the issue. For the evil queen, she could be writhing (voiceless) and slowly turn into a statue with a portrayal of either regret, hurt, angry, or sad OR she could express all these through her body gestures and facial expressions.
Green eyed monster - Corinne May
So you say life is unfair
She's got everything you wanted
And you're not even close
To getting where you wish you could be
You want to get the commendation
Love and adulation
But you're stuck here on your knees
Are you happy, green eyed monster?
Are you happy with your place?
What's the use of being haunted?
Your story for glory
Is right there in your face. ... Are you happy?
Are you happy, green eyed monster?
Are you happy with your place?
What's the use of being haunted?
Your story for glory
Is right there in your face
Right there in your face
Right there in your faceThank you,Maariv.
If there is a changing of a scene where the tirai have to be closed for a while, maybe, as the curtain closes, the audience could see a portrayal of Snow White and her new friends living happily together as of creating an image that everything is well and happy. (actors can act to the music like we did in our drama class ;)
This song is chosen for the lyric "Wouldn't be nice to live together, in a kind of world where we belong, no one gonna make it so much better if we can say good night and be together " (this is the only thing the audience will hear)
*if we do this, as the curtain closes, the props can be handled AS the curtain closes. This would be beneficial to the fluidity of the play.
just as the curtain touches each other, the theme for the evil envious queen will come in,
and the scene goes until the end.
then, (if there is a changing of a scene, as an attempt to explain why the evil queen is so envious) (I am not so sure if this one will be approved),
comes Britney Spears's Lucky for her
"She is so lucky, but why does she cry? If there is nothing missing in her life, why do tears come at night?"
And I also feel that ABBA's dancing queen would fit with the play, yet, I do not know where to place it effectively to hit the audience in the guts.
Thank you,
Maariv.
These are suggestions and I would appreciate any kind of feedback and suggestions.
Sounds and SFX help to create this illusion. This is because they can be suggestive instead of just mood and character theme creation. For example as Snow White reaches "the dwarfs house in the middle of nowhere", there should be sounds of animals that are not supposed to be heard in the forest such as ducks and geese since Snow White has been walking around in the forest after the huntsmen released her. This is because, as she walked through the forest, sounds of birds in the forest can be heard. As she nears a house, there should be sounds suggestive of a house or a place where people are living.

I am writing to suggest songs for all of Snow White, Rapunzel, and Cinderella's cameos (PAGEANT STYLE)
If this is played for all the cameos, it will look funny on the Queen's part since she is angry and sounds like this comes out as the three sweet girls walk across the stage in style (of what is appropriate).
Currently listening to: Disney music.
Any suggestion or sounds that you find you like, just post it to me in facebook and if you please in the comments section below. Thank you and I WANT TO BE FAT! BLUBBERY! PORCINE!f
and it will play softly until the scene ends*
*maybe not until the end....if sth can be done.
Scene 3
the scene starts with and it goes down softly as the characters starts to speak. This would create the motion of the onset for climax of evil in the play.
The Intro for this song plays and Hansel and Gretel enters and gets the audience's attention. Then, it softens until it is barely BARELY heard and the two speaks. *maybe this should be edited to have only the intro looping. OR just let the song goes around SOFTLY BARELY HEARD. I choose this song because it beat and the intro sound sounds of hope and all the nice things of this world.
when they fail, the song would enter a "remix stage" (I will edit it so it sounds of like a cassette in a radio get stuck and tangled-you know what happens to the sound) and stops playing.
After the trio's attempt failed a sound of audience "Uh Oh" (Owwwwwhhhhhh) (lost of hope) will be played.
Then The Queen in Disguise will offer Snow White the apple and she takes the first bite and fell down.
The following will start to play (because it was used as a theme of evil in scene 3, here, the repercussions will have the same theme (SADNESS)
it will play on and on, softly, even while the Fairygod Mother F, tries to save the day. Still her attempt failed.
Scene 5
I have a problem here because I still cannot get an idea about the prince's portrayal; either they are dumb or cocky or heroic or ........ whatever....
In the end, the story will end up with
as an emphasis that good and friendship and friendliness triumphs (the value that keeps the story going).
I choose this because as it has more vibration to the sound, it will create an "ahh, lega, ada bunyi bervibration" in the audience so that it enhances their catharsis in seeing that goodness triumphs and they will know that Snow White and Friends will live happily ever after.
P/S I wonder about not starting the play with Mario Overworld's theme as play's theme.
Note: The above are chosen because they are related (to a certain extent in the demography) to the audience's childhood memories. These are simple sounds but they are meant to give a punch to the audience and invoke emotions.
Please note in your judgement that the play's strength is what the audience sees on stage and what they hear the characters say. The sounds and music are only there to help invoke the desired emotion and create dramatic effect. Thank you.
